Introduction:
-
The outline of this program was suggested on May 21st,
with the presence of some of the supporters of the program, which
aims to form a community for Iranians. The final draft will be
provided for the ratification.
-
Following the increase of Iranian population with diverse needs and
tendencies, the idea of founding a center for this society was felt
essential. The first session, was on May 10th and a group
of Iranians attended it, and voted that this community is in fact
crucial. Our objective is to form a correlation, which is aimed to
fulfill this important affair, which is in the region of our
similarities and based on completion of the approved mission
statement.
- We named this association “United Iranian-Canadian
Society (UICS)”. This association is unified, based on the
cultural and social interchange and expansion the correlation among
Iranians.
- The association is nonprofit and its income is provided by the
membership fees and the educational classesc and art crafts.
- On this account, we invite all the Iranians in
the Maritimes to join this association. Also, the association is
welcoming any one who is interested in the association. The
membership to this community is open to every one, and there is no
concern about their membership in other communities and
associations.
1. First Principal:
1.1.: The association believes in freedom in beliefs and thoughts and
there are no political or social or religious limitations for the
members.
1.2.: Also the association believes in basis of freedom and democracy and on
this account any actions toward promoting and propagating for Islamic
republic of Iran’s advantages is strictly forbidden, and also membership
for people who ask for these kind of actions are not permitted.
2. UICS’s activities and actions, based on the above
policy, are:
2.1. - Cultural:
-
Our duty for the cultural aspect of the UICS is to provide a bond and
relation among Iranians, especially among the younger people. Also,
cultural interchange among Iranian culture and other cultures in Canada
is another goal of this community.
2.2. Educational:
- In order to improve the Iranians’ skills in fine arts and education
UICS will establish the following classes based members requests:
_ Farsi classes for various ages
_ Computer skills for beginners
_ Music
_ English classes
_ Academic tutorials
2.3. Social:
- Arranging New Year’s party, 1st of Farvardin or 21st
of March, Yalda party, Charshanbe soori, Sizdah Bedar, and Sadeh Party.
- Participating in multicultural events and expanding the Iranian
culture
- Arranging music concerts and poem night
- Arranging entertaining camping trips
- Helping and exchanging ideas in the direction of solving possible
problems in social or legal and educational aspects, with providing
experts and contacting the related organizations
- Assisting the new arrivals with educational and better directions to
find jobs and finding a residence
- Providing movie nights and theaters
- Setting up free discussion
2.4. Sports:
- Establishing and expanding sports’ teams
- Setting up games among the existing teams
2.5. Harmonization and relations
- Relations play an important role, in order to achieve one of the
most important UICS’s goals, which are providing a friendly and
correlated environment among the Iranians.
- Supplying list of emails of all members email, and contact numbers
for the members to be able to be in touch with others for urgent
matters.
- Providing an independent spot for UICS office and also a place for
various classes is the other important aim for this organization.
Achieving this factor is one of the primary objectives.
- Involvement with other groups and Iranian Communities in order to
cooperate and establish joint programs is acceptable if it is not against
UICS goals.
2.6. Financial aspect:
- UICS financial needs will be provided by the membership fees,
entertaining and social activities and also, the members’ donations.
- The person who is in charge of the financial maters will provide a
financial report, which will be delivered to all the members. The copy
of the report will also be published on the UICS website, and it will be
accessible for public.
3. The executive board:
- 3.1. Second Principal:
- The public association have the most authority in making
decisions and a meeting takes place every 6 months , and it is also held
if 10% of the members or more request for an urgent meeting.
- The present members in the meeting have same rights.
- The executive board is formed by five members, who are responsible
for implementing the principals and providing answers for the members and
public association. The executive board will meet if it is needed.
- The members of this board can be chosen three times and the duration of
their services is a year.
- Committees are the members of UICS and the candidates for this position
will be elected by the executive board and elected by the public
association.
- The responsible committee’s duty is to provide a complete report of
their activities.
- To improve the UICS activities and preventing any conflict in interest,
and controlling the executive board and committees’ movements, the public
association will elect two of the members as supervisors to keep an
eye on the executive board and committees. It is essential to mention that
the supervisors cannot vote or interfere with the decisions of the executive
board.
- The executive board is also responsible for responding to any
complaints, about the committees. The complainant and the supervisor
must be present during the inspection.
- 3.2.
- The executed activities of UICS are based on the
goals and the mentioned duties of the committees (Cultural, social,
Financial and educational Committees).
- 3.3.
- The dates and the locations of the meetings will
be announced to public and all the members can participate as guests.
- 3.4.
- In Case of emergency lack of enough members for
forming the committees at the time of public association, the executive
board can temporarily invite some of the members to participate in the
next public association and committees’ election.
- 3.5.
- Reports of the meetings will be provided for all
the members.
- 3.6.
- The executive board and supervisors will report
their activities to the members by the end of their services.
- 3.7.
- The counting of the votes will be with the
presence of the members in the public meeting.
4. Third Principal:
-
This mission statement is changeable by request of the members.
These changes
- are suggested by the members and any change must be
accepted by the majority of the public association. The only
unchangeable principals are the: First, second and third
principals.
